About our Swansea locksmith service.
What Swansea customers say.
4.9 stars from verified Google reviews in Swansea.
“Front door cylinder seized solid one Saturday morning. Engineer came round in about half an hour, told me straight away it was salt damage from being two hundred yards from the seafront. Fitted a stainless steel one instead. Hopefully I won't see him again for a while.”
“Locked out of the student flat in Brynmill at midnight. Phone signal was patchy but they got back to me. Engineer was here in twenty-five minutes, opened the door, no damage, decent price for that hour. Saved me having to crash on a mate's floor.”
“Multipoint mechanism on our front door went just before Christmas. Of all the times. Engineer came out the day after I called, swapped the gearbox, talked me through what had failed. Not pushy, just got on with it. Door has been smooth since.”

Locksmith Swansea: what to expect
Swansea sits on the south Wales coast, around 240,000 people across the SA postcode. The housing here is a mix of Victorian terraces near the city centre, Edwardian properties through Uplands and Sketty, and post-war estate building further out at Townhill, Mayhill and West Cross. Down at Swansea Marina there is a stretch of newer apartment blocks from the regeneration that started in the 1990s.
Swansea has a coast and a hill problem when it comes to lock work. The salt air off Swansea Bay shortens cylinder life on properties closer to the seafront. Mumbles, Blackpill and West Cross all sit on or near the coast. And the older Victorian terraces stacked up the hillside at Townhill and Mayhill have their own quirks because of the slope and the weather. Inland it is more straightforward. Sketty, Uplands and Killay run on standard upvc and timber doors with the usual mix of mortice locks and multipoint mechanisms.
Salt corrosion is the big one in Swansea. Cylinders fail noticeably earlier on properties within about a quarter mile of the coast. Stainless steel cylinders are the answer there, costs about twenty quid more and lasts roughly twice as long. Standard call-outs split between a few patterns. Multipoint gearbox replacements on 1990s and 2000s upvc doors out in Sketty and Killay come through every week. Student lockouts spike in the university areas around Brynmill at term changes. BS3621 upgrades come round when insurance providers update what they ask for. Marina apartments are different again, mostly fob programming and communal door work.
If you’re locked out in Swansea right now, call us on the number at the top of this page. We’ll take your postcode, give you an honest ETA, and confirm the price before we send anyone out. No call-out fees on top of job fees — what you’re quoted is what you pay.
Common questions from Swansea customers
Do you cover the whole Swansea area?
Yes. We cover SA postcodes and the surrounding areas including Swansea, Mumbles, Llanelli, Neath, Port Talbot, Pontardawe, Gowerton. If you’re on the outskirts, call first and we’ll confirm the current ETA from the nearest engineer.
What locks do you recommend in Swansea?
It depends on the property. For older stock we usually suggest a modern BS3621 mortice combined with an anti-snap cylinder. This combination meets insurance requirements and stops the most common forced-entry methods. We’ll always look at what you currently have and tell you whether it’s worth keeping or replacing.
We’re a small operation, not a national call centre. When you call, you reach someone who knows Swansea, knows the common lock types here and can give you an honest answer about what the job involves. DBS-checked engineers, no call-out fee, clear pricing before we start.
What it costs. Before we start.
No call-out fees. No surprise charges. The number we quote is the number you pay.
