About us
Locksmith1.co.uk is operated by General Services Ltd, registered in England and Wales. These terms govern your use of this website and any locksmith services you purchase from us. By using the site or booking a service, you agree to these terms.

Our services
We provide residential and commercial locksmith services including emergency lockout assistance, lock change, lock repair, uPVC door lock repair, and related physical security work. Services are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, subject to engineer availability in your area.
Pricing and quotes
- All prices are quoted before work begins — by phone or in writing on arrival. The price quoted is the price you pay. There are no hidden call-out fees, no VAT surprises, and no additional charges once work commences, unless unforeseen additional parts are required (in which case we will inform you before proceeding).
- Prices listed on this website are indicative starting prices. Your exact price will be confirmed based on the specific lock, door type, and work required.
- We do not charge a call-out fee. If we attend and you decide not to proceed with the work after receiving a quote, there is no charge — unless we have already commenced work with your verbal agreement.
Booking and attendance
- Bookings are confirmed verbally by phone or in writing by email or SMS.
- We aim to attend within 20 minutes for emergency callouts. Response times are estimates and may vary due to traffic, location, and engineer availability.
- You must be present at the property or have authorised a representative to be present on your behalf. We will not perform work on a property without an authorised adult present.
- You must have the legal right to access the property. We reserve the right to request proof of occupancy or ownership before commencing work. We will not assist with entry to any property where we have reasonable grounds to suspect the requester does not have legal right of access.
Payment
- Payment is due on completion of work. We accept cash and major debit/credit cards.
- Where parts are sourced specifically for your job, payment for parts may be requested in advance.
- Invoices for commercial clients are payable within 14 days of issue unless otherwise agreed in writing.
Warranty
- All labour carries a 12-month warranty. If a lock we have fitted or repaired develops a fault due to our workmanship within 12 months, we will return and rectify the issue at no charge.
- Free re-adjustment is available within 14 days of installation for any minor alignment issues, no questions asked.
- The warranty does not cover damage caused by third parties, attempted forced entry, or misuse.
- Parts (locks, cylinders, etc.) carry the manufacturer’s warranty, which we will pass on to you at the time of installation.
Liability
- We carry £2 million public liability insurance. Our liability to you for any claim arising from our services is limited to the value of the work carried out, except where death or personal injury results from our negligence.
- We are not liable for any loss or damage arising from your failure to follow our advice or from pre-existing conditions of the lock, door, or frame that were not discoverable by reasonable inspection.
- Nothing in these terms limits or excludes liability that cannot be excluded under UK law, including rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015.
Consumer rights
If you are a consumer (booking a service for personal, non-business use), you have rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015. Our services must be carried out with reasonable care and skill. If we fail to meet this standard, you are entitled to a repeat performance or, where that is not possible, a price reduction.
You also have rights under the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013 where applicable.

We aim to acknowledge all complaints within 2 working days and resolve them within 14 days. If you remain dissatisfied, you may seek redress through the Citizens Advice consumer service (0808 223 1133) or, for online disputes, through the EU Online Dispute Resolution platform.
