What we do.

Locked Out in Bristol? Here’s Exactly What Happens Next

When you call us from Bristol, you’re not going through a national call centre. You’re getting straight through to dispatch, who knows the BS area and can tell you within a minute which engineer is closest and what their honest ETA is. We work across all of Bristol and into the surrounding areas — Bath, Keynsham, Yate, Clevedon, Nailsea — so if you’re just outside the city boundary, call us anyway. Chances are we can still get there fast.

What we actually do when we arrive

The first thing our engineer will ask is what type of lock it is and what you’ve already tried. Then they assess the door and try non-destructive entry first — picking, bypass, or letterbox tools. This works on the majority of standard front doors and leaves your lock intact. If it doesn’t work, we’ll explain exactly why before touching anything that can’t be undone. Drilling is always a last resort, and when it is necessary, we carry replacement cylinders on the van and re-secure the door the same visit.

Pricing: what you pay and when you find out

We quote the price on the call, before anyone gets in a van. That price doesn’t change when the engineer arrives unless the job turns out to be something entirely different from what was described — and if that happens, we tell you before we start. No call-out fee on top, no “night rate” premium, no surprise charge for the replacement cylinder we happened to have in stock. What we quote is what you pay.

Why customers in Bristol choose us

  • Same price round the clock

No out-of-hours premium. Quote on the call, same when we arrive.

  • Non-destructive entry first

We pick or bypass before we drill. Your lock stays intact in the vast majority of jobs.

  • Local engineers in Bristol

Our engineers are based in the area — not dispatched from 40 miles away. That’s how we keep response times honest.

  • DBS-checked, uniformed

Every engineer carries photo ID and a current DBS certificate. We show both before opening anything.

  • 12-month warranty

On every lock or cylinder we fit. If it fails in a year, we come back at no charge.

Common questions

Emergency Locksmith in Bristol — FAQs.

Yes. Every engineer holds a current DBS (criminal record) certificate and will show photo ID on arrival.

12 months on all parts and labour. Written certificate emailed after every job. If anything isn’t right, we come back free of charge.

No. The price we quote at 2am is the same as the price we’d quote at 2pm. We made a deliberate decision not to use out-of-hours pricing because it penalises people for situations they can’t control. The quote you get on the call is the price you pay.

Broken key extraction is a separate job from a standard lockout, but it’s one we do regularly. If the key sheared cleanly and the barrel isn’t damaged, we can usually extract it without replacing the cylinder. If the barrel is damaged, we’ll say so and give you the cost of a replacement before we proceed.

Yes. uPVC multipoint doors occasionally put themselves into a fully-deadlocked state if the door wasn’t closed properly before being locked, or if the mechanism has a fault. We carry bypass tools for most common makes. These jobs take a bit longer but we can handle them.

Not automatically. If you’re certain your keys are lost rather than stolen, and there’s no way someone could connect them to your address, re-keying rather than full replacement is fine. If there’s any chance someone knows your address, change the lock — that’s the only way to be certain.

Something with your name and address on it — a driving licence, bank statement, utility bill, or tenancy agreement. We ask this for your protection as much as ours. A locksmith who opens doors without checking ID is a security risk to everyone on the street.
