What we do.

Anti Snap Locks in Harrow — TS007 Cylinders Supply and Fit

Lock snapping is still one of the most common forced entry methods in the UK, and the HA area is no different. The technique takes seconds with basic tools — a burglar snaps the outer section of a standard euro cylinder, reaches in with a screwdriver, and the door is open. Anti snap cylinders stop this. They have a sacrificial section that breaks off before the lock mechanism can be reached. We supply and fit TS007 3-star rated cylinders across Harrow and surrounding areas: Wembley, Pinner, Northwood, Stanmore.

How snap attacks work

A standard euro cylinder can be snapped by gripping the outer end and applying force. On cheaper cylinders, the snap point is at the key entry slot, and once the outer section is broken off, the internal cam can be turned directly with a screwdriver. The process takes under 30 seconds. Anti snap cylinders have a designed sacrificial section that breaks away from the lock body at a point before the internal mechanism — the door stays locked even after the outer section is removed.

TS007 3-star: what the rating means

TS007 is the British Standard for cylinder security. 3-star is the highest rating, covering anti-snap, anti-pick, anti-drill, anti-bump, and anti-manipulation resistance. Most UK insurance policies now specify TS007 3-star cylinders as a requirement for euro cylinder locks on external doors. We fit 3-star rated cylinders from reputable UK suppliers as standard.

Why customers in Harrow choose us

  • TS007 3-star as standard

We do not fit anything below 3-star. The 1-star and 2-star options meet some standards but are less resistant to combined attack methods.

  • Correct size confirmed on arrival

We measure before fitting. The wrong size cylinder is a common DIY mistake that leaves the lock exposed.

  • New keys included

Every anti snap cylinder we fit comes with three new keys.

  • Written certificate

We provide a written note of what was fitted and the security rating — useful if your insurer asks.

  • 12-month warranty

On all fitted cylinders and labour.

Common questions

Emergency Locksmith in Bath — FAQs.

Yes. Every engineer holds a current DBS (criminal record) certificate and will show photo ID on arrival.

12 months on all parts and labour. Written certificate emailed after every job. If anything isn’t right, we come back free of charge.

No. The price we quote at 2am is the same as the price we’d quote at 2pm. We made a deliberate decision not to use out-of-hours pricing because it penalises people for situations they can’t control. The quote you get on the call is the price you pay.

Broken key extraction is a separate job from a standard lockout, but it’s one we do regularly. If the key sheared cleanly and the barrel isn’t damaged, we can usually extract it without replacing the cylinder. If the barrel is damaged, we’ll say so and give you the cost of a replacement before we proceed.

Yes. uPVC multipoint doors occasionally put themselves into a fully-deadlocked state if the door wasn’t closed properly before being locked, or if the mechanism has a fault. We carry bypass tools for most common makes. These jobs take a bit longer but we can handle them.

Not automatically. If you’re certain your keys are lost rather than stolen, and there’s no way someone could connect them to your address, re-keying rather than full replacement is fine. If there’s any chance someone knows your address, change the lock — that’s the only way to be certain.

Something with your name and address on it — a driving licence, bank statement, utility bill, or tenancy agreement. We ask this for your protection as much as ours. A locksmith who opens doors without checking ID is a security risk to everyone on the street.

If it is a euro profile cylinder with no visible TS007 rating — and most cylinders do not advertise this prominently — assume yes. The way to check is to look for a TS007 logo on the cylinder face. If you are not sure, we will tell you when we arrive.

Look for a TS007 logo or kite mark on the cylinder face, or check whether there is a visible snap-off section on the front of the cylinder (a deliberate weak point that breaks away from the lock body). If you cannot find either, it is worth getting it checked.

No. The key operation is identical. Anti snap cylinders use the same key blanks and the same motion. You will not notice any difference in day-to-day use.

A TS007 3-star cylinder with a matched TS007 handle or escutcheon meets the standard most UK insurers now require. We will confirm the correct configuration for your door and provide documentation after fitting.

Usually yes, if we are fitting at multiple doors on the same visit. We can key all cylinders to the same key so you have one key for all external doors.
